Can you say something about the 'Spaced Aliens' flicker Mr. Minty? That flicker is great and really funny. That flicker is a classic'. "SPACED ALIENS'.
back when funny was funny
The Mars Attacks pinball machine was pretty cool.
I remember one of the 1st time I smoked a joint with my dad we watched Mars attacks n Beavis n butthead
This reminds me of the cult classic "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes".
@5:23 are you saying the budget was $260 million? Figures I've seen elsewhere suggest $70 million.
i loved this movie just for being a fun one to watch
Tom Jones because Tom Jones performs in Los vagus that's why hes in the movie.
Watched this on mushrooms with death metal in the back ground never saw it so I lost my mind laughing at all the celebrities being killed great time¥
So glad it didn't happen in the 80s. That would've ruined it in the same way the sci-fi standard Dune was ruined by that jackass Lynch.
I'm actually in this movie. That's me shooting the Martian at 5:49 - Had a lot of fun and got to meet Jack Nicholson too!
An underrated classic! Also, now I want to go find some original Mars Attacks cards
Dinosaurs attacks needs to be made.
I always imagined that this 1990's movie took place around the year 2015.
Oh, come on, give him some matches. What's the worst he could do with them?
Where the ufo landed to meet with our military was a dry lake bed> that was filmed in kingman Arizona and it’s called (red lake)> universal soldier...and I believe the name was Route 66 also filmed in kingman aZ and oatman AZ👍
LOL the Martians represent illegal immigrants and the president represents Merkel
Dude, put down the puppet... it's just cringey.
The blowing up of the Landmark Hotel, was the actual implosion footage.
This channel would be so much better is the guy didn't try to be funny. Comes off so cringe!! Not funny at all
Try pulling this film out of your arse and then comment on. It's fucking shocking - spoof or not
I thought means of defeating the aliens was more of a rip off of Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, where they were defeated with the song Puberty Love.
Ack ack ack ack, ACK ACK ACK reddit ACK ack ack ACK www.reddit.com/r/ACK
Well done Minty
You forgot Danny DeVito!
Did I hear you say that they green lit a $260,000,000.00 budget for the movie ? um, that's a smidge over a quarter of a BILLION DOLLARS ....that don't sound right...especially when you Google Mars Attacks, and see that they had a budget of $70 million....you're only off by nearly $200 million...whooops!
You look like a British Karl Anderson 😂😂😂😂
Dack dack dack!!! Shut up shut up SHUT UP!!!!
I worked Security on this movie. They found a lot of the movie on what wasn't empty lot in Las Vegas Nevada. The site now houses The Palms Casino. I used to jump the little Hills on my dirt bike back then there. I was working for security unlimited at the time when I was 20 years old. They built the Palms Casino on top of the old dirt lot where some of this was filmed now
I love this because its funny as Heck. ... You should do The Danish Girl or Boy meets Girl.. Just asking for an obvious reason lol.
Ya know Sharknado was similar in so many ways...
the "beaten by a song" schtick was actually taken from "attack of the killer tomatoes" , an even more obscure cult flick from 1978.
Heck yeah man, dig it!
Pierce Brosnan is totally my favorite. Lol. Hilarious
Why have they not remade this...into a trilogy...
This came out when I was in high school, my buddy and i skipped that day and went to the mall to see it. We were both so stoned 😂
Mars Attacks crossovers....THANKS Minty....now I am headed to ebay!
Howard Stern is a dope. HE COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF Fartman from a National Lampoon magazine comic.
Minty! Put a space between Mars and Attacks in your title....you'll get more hits!! See ya!!!
Make 10 things about val hel sing
This is a better film 🎞!
I knew most of this!
Watching it now!
Saw it in the theatres opening day!
I love this film 🎞‼️
Ahh 90s movies, this probably wouldn't get a PG-13 if it was made now a days.
I had a floppy disc with a Mars Attacks game on it where you tried to help martians by fixing their suits. It was fun to find ways it kill them. My favorite was shattering their helmet completely and watching them cough then collapse.
Mars Attacks was never not-popular. I remember on opening week, we were all laughing so hard we couldn't breathe!
The music was great-especially the use of the song Indian Love Call!
Mars Attacks was hilarious 😂
Wish I had seen it in a theater with a big audience, but I ended up renting it instead.
I'd love to see a reboot set inthe 50s with a slightly darker tone.
Did he say a budget of $260 million? 🤔
Er.. it was 70 million. No one was greenlighting budgets that big then. Titanic cost 200 million.
Funny looking back on this movie. It scared me so bad when I was 4 years old lmao
GOOD but not as good as a "les patterson saves the world " vid ???
I want another Beetlejuice movie!!!
I saw both Mars Attacks and Independence Day in theaters, I had a good time with Independence Day, and laughed my ass off at Mars Attacks, both are good but Mars Attacks is brilliant those aliens were fantastic however, their leader should of been Marvin.
This is the movie to me that took a douche on movies like Independence Day. The Mel Brooks parody to science fictions. XD
$260 million peso budget maybe but not $260 USA. Think you meant $60 then it went to $80
Independence day was pure white trash dog shit of a movie
Slim Whitman saved the world.
"Nack nack, nack nack!" =P That language was like the first version of "I am Groot" because it's just the tone they use that's a bit different. Bonkers film and one hell of a cast too, almost like The Departed. And what the hell?! I really did think that the lady in Sleepy Hollow shown was Anne Hathaway hahaaa.
british humour & yes tom jones was added as a p*ss take as his singing being that bad
$260,000,000 budget? Are you sure about that? Even by today's standards that's A LOT of money. Marvel movies cost that much.
+Bryan Ganz Just done a little research. The budget was actually 80 mil. Promotional costs were 20 mil. In worldwide BO it made 101 mil. So not really a success. At 260 mil it would have been a colossal flop. Titanic, released in 97, was the most expensive film of that period, at a 'mere' 200 million.
+David James that sounds way more accurate. Even 70 is still kind of a lot but this movie did have a lot of special effects. 70 million is believable but not 260 million
It was 70 million.
Do candle cove next. I can't seem to remember any facts about that movie.
I just adored that movie minty !!! :)
Squiggles!! ❤❤ I just adore this one, Minty! I didn't know any of this stuff and really loved hearing about it from you. You crack me up! I miss chatting with you and Carrie on FB. i hope you're having a FABULOUS 2019! -- SGH
Nice one Minty. This was the first DVD i bought. Great fun film.
I was a kid when I saw "Dinosaurs attack!" and I thought it was one of the most silliest things I've seen in my life. I was a dinosaur kid, so I knew that many of the dinos in the cards were big, but not THAT big. And having harmless plant eatters eatting people was dumb to me as well....oh, and the card of trilobites eatting a man's face? Trilobites ate MUD. I was SEVEN and I knew that! AND...this is a very big AND...I said to my dad "They would all die off right away. IT's been thousands of years and the earth has altered and changed, and with ozone holes, and pollution, this invasion would last five seconds."
Howard Stern needs to get out of his own ass. The ending of Mars Attacks reminded me of the ending to Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. The Killer Tomatoes were killed by the horrible song "Puberty Love"
I just watched Mars attacks and to be fair it really does look a parody of Independence Day
When I first saw it.. I was seriously trying to figure out what this thing was.. but as soon as the Aliens lazered the entire Congress.. I spat my lunch out and pissed myself laughing.. everything after that made sense.. and I just laughed my guts up all the way through... but those first few minutes.. I had a seriously screwed up frown..... who wouldn't want to lazer the entire Congress..specially the Dem half!!! LMFAO
What?! No mention of the real-life demolition of the Landmark Hotel and Casino being in the movie?!
Always liked the movie.
You didn't mention how Mark Levin does the voices for the Martians... or is it the Martians that do the voice for Mark Levin?
Good stuff but Minty, you got the budget info wildly wrong. Otherwise great.
How dark is the suede that mows like a harvest....
the 90's alternarock band Belly did a cover of "It's Not Unusual" by Tom Jones , and it's awesome, and Tom Jones and the lead singer from the Cardigans did a cover of Burning down the House , by Talking Heads
I wish Tim Burton stuck with the original tone from the books.
This one 'Spaced out'. Funny. https://youtu.be/F0fnN92Pkvs
A new line of Mars Attacks in comics is now published by Dynamite Entertainment. Writtin by Kyle Starks it is a fun comic.
There is no way to possibly know what I, or any other potential viewer, did or didn't know about Mars Attacks. It's really presumptuous. Please put more thought into the titles of your videos - they are often the first thing that people see.
With a $260 million budget in the mid 90s? Ummmm...
I'm sure that the end song that killed the Martians was based on Puberty Love from Attack of the Killer Tomatos.
Haven't seen it
R.I.P. Sylvia Sidney. She killed it in both this movie and as Juno in "Beetlejuice."
# squirrel they would have casted Chuck Norris as the main character but we all know that Chuck Norris would have killed them all with one blow to his mighty beard😬
Mars Attacks>>>Independence Day :)
Thank you for another great video!!! Virtuosity with Danzel and Russell sounds like a great idea for 10 Things...
10. Trading Cards: Now that is an odd way to go from "throwaway graphics" to movie. 9. Mid-1980's production: Abandoned once, brought back, and unleashed on an unsuspecting public. 8. "Dinosaur Attacks": Wasn't that covered by UK series "Primeval"? ("Jurassic Park"? What's that?) 7. Martian Subtitles: Why not, their vocalizations were...Alien.;) 6. Casting: With a cast like that and a movie like this...out of this world.:( 5. Suffering for ART: Lasting scars, injury, and that "stuffed sausage" feeling. 4. Musical feud = great soundtrack: Bring it on, Slim Whitman! 3. Martian DFX: ILM instead of Stop Motion. 2. Cinematic Alien Invasions: "ID4" vs. "Mars Attacks!" (Spoof?) 1. Comic book immortality: Frederic Wertham was right! https://slate.com/culture/2008/04/the-campaign-against-comic-books.html Note: I am not and have never been a fan of this movie. However, any Aliens who can be destroyed by Slim Whitman is OK.;)
Great video guy. I loved Mars Attacks and you are right, the music is phuc'n AWESOME! http://bit.ly/subscribeCGI
I saw this movie in the theaters. Everyone I knew understood this was a fantastic movie! I agree Danny Elfman was genius.
ACK ACK ACK! ACK ACK ACK ACK!
That movie cost 260 million? That had to have been an embezzlement scam....it sure did not reflect on screen.
The music is delightfully creepy
