Looks like none of you have ever worked in the service industry would you go to a strip club and not tip?

Also, my wife worked in service. Whenever she complained, I just dared her to get a REAL job. I mean...FIRST...she came home with WADS of money...but still complained about non tippers. How does that even make any sense? B. She had been working in that industry for a few years, every sense she was a teen..before i met her when I was discharged...She KNEW the type of work and the lack of REAL pay...but still decided it was best for her to work that job...and know what her excuse was? Even though she complained about non tippers? She KNEW that if she worked the "busy" days, and because of repeat customers, she could make over $500 per week. And 3....your job is to go get my food. Not real rocket science. Walk to the kitchen, bring it to me. Fill my water every so often. All things I can EASILY do myself. Whos should we REALLY tip? Teachers. They care for my kids all damn day. They ACTUALLY have the power to make a change in society, becuase they directly shape kid's lives and kids are the future. My cousin, later on, dated a woman, in the service industry. She has degree in business. Her family owns the company that manages apt buildings and do well. She chose to quit that, to work in service. Same reason..KNOWING the weekly pay will end in wads..AND the lack of actually HAVING to be as responsible as she would with that managerial career. Funny thing...my wife worked in a few higher classed restaurants while my cousin's girl worked in places like Chili's and Waffle House...and both brought home similar pay at the end of the week. Obviously my wife made more, but hell, even I was tempted to get a job at the local Waffle House when I saw her consistent take home pay. My point....a LOT of waitresses are trying to make a big deal out of a profession..simply to guilt people to pay them more. My wife DENIED the manager position simply because they get salary, and that would cut into her average take home pay. You COULD gather all the service workers..and go back to the old days..where you SERIOUSLY..EARNED that pay...or FORCE the institution to pay you a real worker's pay. Stop trying to put the pressure on people who came in to get some food, to pay EXTRA

I have. I mean, I went to thailand, Japan and Korea. In all 3 of those places I had a woman strip for me, give me a bath, massage, and a happy ending all for a set price. And low at that. so, yes, I've went to strip clubs in America and just looked. Bought a drink, flirt, had my fun, and lost no money past the drinks and hotel for my take out

Fuck percentages. I generally tip $2- $5 on a regular meal (like Denny's or pizza), or for housekeepers at motels, $1 per drink at a bar, and $10-$20 for an expensive meal depending how much it costs.

I only tip my regular spots or spots I think I will revisit. And even then, it's maybe no more than $6. could be a $200+ bill...That's what I ate and drinks are expensive. That doesn't equal the work the waitress did. So...I'm not paying extra, just because I paid extra

Fyi server minimum wage in the US is $2.13, and after taxes (most of the time) you get a $0 paycheck. So for a lot of servers their entire wage is based off of what people decide to tip them. This has been my PSA on please tip your servers in the US

Tips (to insure prompt service) I have the beauty of seeing if the customer tipped because they pay up front... I can tell you this, if they didn't, they aren't gonna get prompt service. The ones that do have a better all around experience, like not having to wait 10 mins to get a coffee refill. I also guarentee that the +20%ers are walking out the door with "free" cookies, pastries, smoothies ect... But of course, I'm in a special predicament, getting paid up front...

One thing to remember about tipped work in America, most of the jobs that are tipped would not be worth working at minimum wage. They are high stress jobs that require a higher level of effort then your average minimum wage job. Think waiting 20 minutes for your food is bad? Try an hour if you had servers working at a minimum wage level output. Not to mention companies would be chronically short of workers because the turnover would be insane. So companies would have to raise their prices so they could pay more in wages. So it would even out. Which leads me to believe the reason tipping is big in America is because Americans hate taxes. Tipping is a way for both the company to dodge payroll taxes. While the worker is required to report tipped income to the IRS, hey, there is no paper trail and no proof. So effectively impossible to enforce. It is shitty that the law breaking part is foisted on the worker, and the company gets to avoid taxes scott free.

I live in Canada and that is absolutely right. In a Montreal steakhouse the bill gets salty very quickly because of the tip. Sometimes you end up paying 150$-200$ only in tips on a 1K$ bill just to be granted the possibility to eat orgasmic steaks and drink superb wines again at this place, let alone not being shot or beaten with a rubber hose in the backstreet because you are cheap enough to just give a hundred. After 15% taxes.
